Dominican Republic

OVERVIEW

New Beginnings

For years Haitians have emigrated to Dominican Republic to escape economic and political instability. It is estimated that Haitians and their descendants make up up to 20 percent of the Dominican Republic’s total population. For families starting new lives, they are in need of basic needs. A team of volunteers led by John T. will be headed to the Dominican Republic to help families integrate into the systems in the Dominican Republic. They hope to free them from the expenses and waste from single use bottled water by sharing how to build in-home water filter systems.
